The novitiate

The novitiate: the time of the first yes

This is a special year during which the young man becomes a brother and receives the Franciscan habit. He deepens his vocation through prayer and relationships. Novices are accompanied by a master whose mission is to guide them on their path through regular meetings to assess their progress and any setbacks. During this year, the novice discovers and studies the life and charism of St. Francis, the Rule of Life of the brothers, the Constitutions of the Order, the documents of the Church on Consecrated Life, Franciscan history, and the saints of the Franciscan family.

At the end of the novitiate, if the young man is ready, he takes his first vows, a simple profession for a period of three years. He decides to live the vows of obedience, poverty, and chastity with other brothers in order to live the Gospel in the manner of St. Francis. This is the first "yes"!

Simple profession of Br. KAKULE Pascal in Lubumbashi, in the hands of the provincial minister, Br. José NZAU NZAU (August 2023).
